Sport Aircraft Builders Club (SABC)

Saturday 6th December 2002

Hi everyone, just to let you all know, on Saturday morning, there will be increased air activity at Murrayfield, as a planned event by RACWA at Gingin has had to be rescheduled at short notice, and they are now going to Murrayfield.

SABC members are welcome there, of course provided we abide by their noise abatement procedures etc., and in return we may well receive some visitors from RACWA on the way down to Murrayfield, or on the way back to JT.

Mick Harcourt, the RACWA Club Captain has proposed a kind of mini spot-landing competition for RACWA visitors who may call by en route to Murrayfield & also any SABC members who want to join in. Mick suggested there would be not more than about 10 RACWA aircraft. This would need someone from SABC to volunteer to observe & judge the landings. The same thing will be done for arrivals at Murrayfield. There is also a sausage sizzle we are invited to join in with, say around 10:00am.

He also reminded me of the basic operating procedures at Murrayfield, which are:-

  • no take-offs on runway 27,
  • all circuits are to the south,
  • if runway 05 or runway 09 is in use, the circuits are RIGHT-HAND Circuits,
  • for runway 23 it is a normal LH circuit.
