Preparations continue - this is the latest email from Rod Carter about preparations. Dated 17th August 2002 For more information - visit http://www.cunderdinaviationexpo.avon.net.au/
Gentlemen, Thanks for your attendance at our recent meeting at the Royal Aero Club. This email will be the first of what I hope will be a weekly update of progress achieved towards staging the Easter Airshow at Cunderdin. 1. Public Liability Insurance. for the Expo was discussed at Cunderdin Shire Council meeting on Friday 16th Aug. In attendance was a rep from local govt Insurance scheme who informed Council that our Expo being run by a sub committee of Council would be covered for 100 million dollars. There is no additional premium for the Expo above Councils normal premium. All volunteers working at the expo would also be covered providing they are listed on a register to be maintaned at Council. The proviso is........ that all Air Display participants and commercial service providers need to have at least 5 million dollars cover of their own (preferably 10 million) I would appreciate your comments and or questions on this, particularly the need for 5 million cover by Air Display Participants. 2. The rough draft of the Business plan and funding application were completed this week. This will now go to Wheatbelt Development Commission for refinement and then be submitted to both that body and also Events Corp for regional event funding applications. Funding being sought from these two bodies is $50,000. Funding assured to date is $15,000 Cunderdin Shire Council and $6,000 Cunderdin Business Association. The budget to run the Expo at present totals $84,000 with some of this being in kind support from the Cunderdin Community. Funding for assisting various air display participants to perform at Cunderdin will be sought from various sponsors. At present this totals only $1000 Shell $500
and provision of fuel truck at the Expo. Further approaches for sponsorship will be conducted as soon as the PC video promotion is completed, probably in the next 2 weeks. Sponsorship oportunities identified thus far include Twisties , Lift Soft drink Powerade and Aero Chocolate. You may care
to add to these if you have an imagination like our promotional guru.....Lia
