Sport Aircraft Builders Club (SABC)

Coastal Patrols

The Surf Life Saving Association of WA have accepted the Sport Aircraft Builders Club offer of
providing beach patrols for the month of October 2002 which will start on the weekend of 5th,
6th of October and continue with the other weekends of the 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 26th and
27th of October.

The volunteers will carry out a patrol up to two hours from Secret Harbour to Mullaloo; the first
flight will take off at 7.30am and return around 9.30am. The next flight will depart around
10am and return around 12noon; a total of 16 flights for the month of October.

The Surf Life Saving Association of WA will provide the communication radios and the observers;
this is a "purely voluntary project" with members providing their own aircraft, fuel and
insurance cover.

The Surf Life Saving Association of WA still believe it's a valuable option providing the SLSWA
with information on the beach conditions. Please contact Rob Felton if you would like to be involved and are prepared to fly a SLSWA member on a beach patrol.
