Zenair CH701

Some of you may know that Maxine and I have been beavering away building for what seems like an eternity. But it's only been four years I hear you cry ! We're doing our level best to create a passable impression of a Zenair CH701 from a very large box of parts in deepest Willletton... Much to the amusement of neighbours and passing strangers alike.   We're now getting to the point where it looks surprisingly like an aircraft, albeit a boxy and somewhat "robust" looking one, but hey, once you're up there, does that really matter ? Here's a pic of the plane with one wing still folded. Our hope was that we'd be able to trundle the plane down to Serpentine on a trailer and go flying now and again, thus avoiding the cost of a hangar or a Jandakot parking fee. However, the folding wing mechanism has taken it's toll, and we've now been forced into having a major rethink... (I should have listened to Phil Maley !!)  Clearly , the first step is to fly off the 25 hours.
