Zenith CH200 VH-COV first flight at Serpentine Airfield was on the 10 September 2005 with test pilot Tom Krieg. Our thanks to Tom.
A couple of minor problems have surfaced.
The propellor is one recommended for the Lycoming 0-235 C diameter 1.73 meters and pitch 1.42 meters which give the aircraft 2450 RPM at full throttle (2000 feet) in flight.
The position of our G Super Venturi is located 120 mm from the upper longeron in the cockpit and 300 mm from the firewall; it is bolted parallel to the fuselage and we have noticed the needle on the altimeter and vertical speed indicators move up and down about 50 to 100 feet in flight at full revs.
Second flight 16/9/2005
Tom Kriegs Test pilot report:
I found with the CH200 I had to use a lot of left rudder to keep straight and when I released pressure off the rudder the aircraft would turn sharply right, at first I thought the nose wheel was unlocked but on a low pass, observers said it appeared straight. The nose wheel was locked when the aeroplane landed.
